About the Public Library
On February 14, 2023, a Public Library was opened at Maqsut Narikbayev University. This is a place where any resident or visitor of the Astana city has the opportunity to enjoy reading business, professional or fiction literature together with the MNU Public Library.

What is the Public Library?
The space has different zones. These include shelving with integrated upholstered chairs, a mezzanine with shelving. The areas with workstations equipped with lighting and electrical outlets. Upholstered furniture. Winter garden with live plants. Event area, stage with LED screens and amphitheatre-like seating for event participants.
A space with a total area of about 1051 square metres. Books shelves with a total length of more than 300 metres and a total capacity of about 13,000 books.
All literature is free to access for visitors, with the intention of developing trust with users.
The new space is connected by a flight of stairs to the library's universal reading room, which houses academic and scientific literature.
Topic sections of books
The fund of the new zone has turned out to be very dynamic. The content is constantly replenished with new editions.
In the first hall on the podium, literature in the Kazakh language, Kazakh and Kazakh authors, translations of world bestsellers into Kazakh, as well as literature in foreign languages about Kazakhstan.
Further along the halls there is informative literature on business, leadership, strategy, management, team building, personnel management, coaching, finance, financial literacy and investments.
You can find books on how to test business ideas, how to start startups, everything for future and current entrepreneurs and managers.
The Philosophy section features books from a wide range of philosophers, from ancient philosophy, classical German to the teachings of anarchism.
Novelties, as well as classic works of fiction, journalism, scientifically popular editions about the universe, space, natural science and serial editions.
Literature on health, healthy eating and the body, along with literature on psychology, with many popular books for young people on finding oneself, mental health and spiritual development.
Rules for visiting the Public Library

— Handle books with care
— Eat only in designated areas (cafeteria or dining hall)
— Only water is allowed inside; no other drinks
— Workspaces are intended for studying or reading
— Please leave books on the book cart or the white tables after use
— Reading is allowed only within the library premises. Home lending is not available
— Lying down or sleeping on sofas is not permitted
— Please leave outerwear in the cloakroom
— Pets are not allowed inside the library
— Visits by children aged 1 to 5 are not recommended
— Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult
— Don’t forget to return your visitor badge before leaving
